CAKED is brought to you by Irene Herbst, Evie Diaz and Bashua Coleman. Serving you the best, homemade cake-pops in the LA/OC area.
what's a cake-pop?
The easiest way to describe a cake-pop is that it is essentially a 'cake-on-a-stick'. it is a whole cake in one bite! the frosting is actually already included in the cake 'ball' and then enrobed in one of our chocolate/candy coatings.
how to eat a CAKED cake-pop:
If you can eat it in one bite, then go ahead! just beware when biting into one of these as it may fall apart...after all, it is cake right?
note from the team:
Living in an age of reinvention, my friends and I were inspired by a delicious little treat that was served to us at a friend’s birthday party. Who would have thought that a piece of cake-on-stick would become all the rage following the tail end of cupcake saturation? Perhaps it was the combination of the sugar high we got from eating a few chocolate covered, red velvet cake pops washed down with liquor based ‘girly’ drinks that caused us to conjure up the idea of establishing a business solely comprised of the making and selling of cakes-on-a-stick. A quick search on the internet had us realizing that there was little to no market for these little gems. Within months our conversations led us to choosing a name for our company and what flavors we would offer, to our signature candy heart placed on top of each CAKED L.A. cake pop to match our darling little logo (designed by our own Irene Herbst [who had a lot of time on her hands after being laid off from her job and falling victim to the declining economy.])
Cake pops are not for the faint of heart. It was a long journey to perfecting the methods and techniques we have in place today. We researched several different recipes including the recipe used for the 1st cake pops we sampled continuing on to finally finding our own perfect ratio between cake and icing that make up the cake portion of our pops. Through trial and error and the unforgiving palettes of our friends and family, we have come up with flavors that both keep up with the times and at the same time allow you to remember the cake that Mom or Grandma used to make. Flavors offered are: vanilla, cookies-n-crème (chocolate), red velvet, sock-it-to-me (cinnamon/sugar), lemon, marble, banana nut and a twist to an old favorite: Krispy Pops (rice crispies on-a-stick).
With the help of social networking sites, the launching of our own website, and good old fashioned word of mouth, we hope that our version will become THE cake pop to have. We know that there are more and more cake pop businesses appearing everyday but we strive to make sure that we stand alone when it comes to the creativity, customization and variety of products and services that we offer. We want to make sure that we have something to offer for every occasion including: weddings, birthdays, baby showers, party favors and giveaways for any function/event so we’re always open to any suggestions our clients make.
